I have a sneaking suspicion that my former profile put off some people, especially people who didn't know me, because I have always seemed to have a lack of LJ friends. And with my impeccable taste in interests, my fabulous icons, and being the owner and almost constant updater of what has been described as "the most honest livejournal there is" I had to assume that my corny Steven Wright-joke riddled introduction was what was holding me down. So I've scrapped that, and from now on I'm keeping it real (as the kids today like to say)...Ok I probably just lost everyone again...Dammit!
My name is not really Presley, that is my stage name. I got it because I've been obsessed about becoming a rock star and want to follow in the footsteps of my hero Morrissey. My real first and middle names are extremely common, and my last name is a tad hard to pronounce, so I wanted to come up with a one name moniker not unlike that of my hero (though unlike Morrissey, I couldn't use my last name cuz it's not as cool sounding at all and again, hard to pronounce.) I asked a friend (who didn't know who Morrissey was) I needed a name "Like Elvis..." (I used Elvis cuz it's much more mainstream and she was sure to know who I was talking about) and she said "Presley?" And I went "Hey...that's not bad!" So I've gone with that ever since. Some people have laughed at it, others think it's awesome. Either way, I don't care. I like it.
All my friends still know me as my real name, and if you want to know the real me you'll have to become a friend...imagine that.
My great passions are music and writing. Every entry I do begins with a quote from a song (usually a Morrissey or Smiths song) and I tend to write long entries that are very descriptive and detailed talking about my experiences. I tell stories, and sometimes rant. I vent a bit about my woes and frustrations. But it's not all negative, I also boast the highlights and celebrate my achievements too. I rarely ever hold back about anything, if I feel a certain way about something or someone, I say it. Someone once said that I "write about people as if they're never gonna read it." So yeah, I don't pull any punches.
I enjoy writing in here, i enjoy sharing my thoughts and feelings with as many people as possible. It's brought me closer to some people, then again it's also alienated me from others...and I've attracted stalkers as well, unfortunately (which is why I don't allow anonymous posting.) I love sharing and staying in contact with people of all kinds, so if you aren't a friend of mine on here yet and you find me interesting feel free to add me.
